And don't forget the delicious german beer.

There are some things around you don't have over the pond: 5-speeds for petrol engines, 70 hp 1.6 turbo-diesel engines (and 5-speeds for those) carbs for waterboxers and ultrabad 50hp aircoolded for the vanagon.  But all this stuff is
heavy, oily and hard to get in good used condition. So perhaps going back to the Kraut?
