Subject: '84 water pump question
Comments: To: vanagon@VANAGON.COM

I'm in the midst of changing my water pump (1.9 in '84 GL). After words of advice from listees and four hours of work, I got it out. Before I order a replacement from Ron, I'd like to know if anyone else besides Ken, Darrell, or Joel can give me any more insight as to anything else I should do while I have this thing off? I'm already planning on a new thermostat, and maybe temp gauge sender, and belts and hoses. I'm only replacing the hoses that are directly hidden by this thing, as I'm sure I could spend a couple hundred dollars on them all if I really wanted to.

Sorry to have reposted this, but I'm sort of a newbie and a little paranoid that I'm going to have to do this all over again in several weeks because I overlooked something.

Also, I'm looking for front and rear bumpers, rear door shocks, a sliding door handle assembly and both side window sliding locker thingy's (that's a technical term). I'm in NC, but will be making a long drive cross-country soon so things may be workable.

Thanks to all, Jason '84 GL
