We agree, it is a bit thin.  We use one blanket and one open sleeping bag

and that seems to be just enough to fit the bill.  I am able to fold them

up to the exact size of the area behind the bed when it is put away.  The

material sticks up about three inches but is compressed and fits when we
close the top.
