Hi Charles, go see Mark Lacoma at Carter VW in Seattle, and he'll be abe to take care of you. Don't be suprised if you need a expansion valve and/or a receiver dryer too. Labor for the expansion valve is around 4.0 hrs, thanks to the hard location and the receiver dryer is around 1.0 hr to replace. This is assuming that the compressor is good. Maybe you just need recharge, if so, you have a leak, it may be very small also. Request that if all it is, is a recharge needed, then have them put some dye in the system so that when it quits working again, finding the leak is a snap with a Black light. The Black light, when shining it on the AC lines, will turn an area where the leak is a bright yellow. Good luck. Michael Modl 87 syncro
