It is a tiny thing, and it is only to satisfy my anal-retentive side ( and those of you who MUST HAVE THE TRUTH on the list) that I offer this correction...

The reason that AC folks put a high vacuum on the system is to boil out the moisture in the system prior to recharge. I don't recall the EXACT numbers, but when you lower the pressure to, say, 29.5. inches of mercury, the boiling point of water drops to something like 80 degrees F. Keep it there for 15-30 minute, and all the water gets sucked out. Less chance of componant corrosion.
