Hi Volks, Heres the scoop on Conveting R-12 to R134a, direct from VW. Basically, it involves replaceing the reciver-drier and the oil used to lubricate the compressor. Unless you have other problems in your A/C system the cost should be about 232 dollars. I have come up with exact quotes: 1985 through mid 86 the cost is 231.46. For mid 86 and up the cost is 227.50. The VW bulleten is Group: 87 number: 95-03 Dated May 31st 1995. It only covers models starting with M.Y. 1985 but I imagine that older A/C systems, especially dealer installed units, are likly to be the same. LiMBO President Dale Ward had his done not to long ago with very good results. Now the record is strait. (Its so cool working for VW!) Take care.

Reminder: Transporters By The Tunnel July 17-19th. Its coming up fast!! --
