I really think that installing speakers below the window crank (and below the lowest extent of the window when cranked down) permits better speaker options for door mounts. Its pretty easy to cut the door sheet metal and if necessary fabricate a mounting ring/stiffener out of sheet aluminum or sheet steel to support the speakers.
