Hey John... Yeah I know about the bears... I do a lot of tent camping in California... I was planning on having the ice chest anyway for just that reason, just wondered if I should bother with the fridge at all....guess I'll give it a shot. My other screen name is Bearlywood, by the way...Got a dancing bear on the window of my Westy too... In fact this is a smiling bear face----> :o) You were more on the mark than you know....LOL... Meanwhile back to the van, I've got a few little problems...no...make that uh...opportunities to deal with: *I'm having trouble convincing my boyfriend that we want to drive around in the heat with a chemical toilet in the van. Do these things REALLY REALLY not smell?? Or do they not smell in the way that a clean Andy Gump toilet "doesn't smell"? *One of my sliding side windows won't lock...can I replace the locking mechanism somehow? Or do I have to get one of those ugly metal screw-on things? And while I'm on the subject...what's a good alarm system to get? (I live in L.A. remember). *Ohhhhhhh vanagon syndrome....sputter sputter freakin' sputter...Why don't ya just stall already??? No wait! I didn't mean that! Really! Annoying little...characteristic my Wolfy has...We've replaced fuel lines and spark plugs, have to go back and look up what else Joel told me to do... *Laboring starting when warm...another lovely little phenomena I seem to share with some other folks on the list. Wasn't the battery, replaced the starter...that wasn't it either. (It only labors for a second..) And the battery light comes on for a couple minutes when I start the engine, then goes off. Does this mean I have to do the electrical relay deal? I don't want to do that yet...it's not bad...just .. noticeable...

Sure am LOVING this camper though!!!!! Slept in it in Santa Barbara on the 4th and was very pleased with how comfortable the lower bed is...

:o) Kristin
