Subject: Cruise Control & Tape

I'm new at this and finally ready to ask some questions: (1) I had an aftermarket cruise control installed in my '87 Syncro when I bought it. Do not know the brand. Now into its 11th year it will not hold the set speed for more than a minute or so; somtimes it works but not often. It is very erratic and often pulsates. It may be cheaper to replace it rather than pay for trouble shooting time, unless there are some things I can check myself. (?) On a 1 to 10 scale I'm a 4 mechanic! If I get a new one ... any suggestions for a quality reliable unit? (2) Where can I get 2 3/16 wide striping tape to replace the original? (3) Is the SYNCRO tape decal (?) available?

Thank You, Marlin
