        Another thng the tach can spot is a bad Hall Sender (or just a bad
elbow on the Hall Sender). If the tach drops like a rock when the engine
sputters, the signal from the Hall Sender is most likely shorting out or
not being produced. If the elbow coming out of the distributor caan be
wiggled than take of the cap, the rotor and the dust cover and look very
closely at the wires going into that elbow - if they cab touch the distrobutor
body the signal is not going to make it past that point...
