I have an 84 Westy with 150k on it. I bought it 7 years ago wityh 80k
miles. The engine runs perfectly and has never had any work done on
it except for basic maintenace items. Transmission works but has been
sticky for a while (bad synchronizers?)

I personally would run, not walk, from a water cooled engine since they
have a terrible history. But you might get lucky with an '85, then again
you might not. Maybe some of the '85s on the list could remark on them.
