If you ref. my message of 7-8-98 about Prestone 5/150, I was pondering the properties of this anti-freeze, and it turns out that the guy at the auto parts store undeniably is full of -it. The Tech at Prestone (1-800-862-7737) told me the following: 1) this stuff will mix with any Ethelene Glycol anti- freeze. 2) you can test the mixture with the same hydrometer your pappy gave you when you were just a fledgeling mechanic 3) it has a shelf life of 10 years. I'm going to the auto parts to let them know. I also made them give me my $1.35 back for the flush tee I bought there. They said they've been selling them for 10 years, and nobody ever complained of one leaking. Could it be that for $1.35, they really didn't take the time to save thier receipt? Call me anal retentive. |
