I'm surprised no one has mentioned airing down their tires when in the sand. Since I have learned about doing so, it has gotten me out of sand,mud and snow a number of times, in my 2wd kombi and my syncro. Worst thing to do in the sand too seems to be spinning your tires. . . ease up a bit on the gas.
There are local mud drags this weekend (Manitoulin Island Ontario Canada). I am thinking of entering the syncro. . . no really I mean it. Word has it that there is no competition in the 4-cyl class. If I make it down the run, I win. There may be a few others in my class, but the way they turned out last year, I'll probably have 'em beat. The more I do with the syncro, the more I am surprised. Couple weeks back my brother in law wanted to try out his new dodge dakota 4wd (V-8 magnum). I still only had my old worn snow tires on it and I went everywhere and more he did. Finally got a set of BFG AT's and love them so far. Haven't had them in deep mud yet, any one had any experience with them in the mud?
