Thanks to everyone on this list for being so helpful.

After having done some reading and sifted through different opinions I have decided on some parameters for my Westy search.

I would like to find an '87 through '91 Westy (will consider a Weekender too.) with the below options.

AT, AC, Cruise, low miles on engine and in great condition. No Synchro's since I would be concerned about the added maintenance costs. (Correct me if I am wrong.)

Here's the rub. I'd like to keep the *asking* price below $10,000(ideally below $7500.00). If there are a few easily repairable mechanical problems, that's ok. Body damage/rust is unacceptable though. A warranty is preferred. If no warranty is offered a thorough check by a highly recommended Veedub mechanic will suffice.

This Westy will be used for bike touring trips as a SAG vehicle so I'd like to be able to attach a light trailer for carrying bikes. We own three dogs as well (two Golden's and a Husky mix for those interested) and need to be able to transport them on our trips to Door County, WI and elsewhere.

If it is exactly what we want, my wife and I are willing to fly to San Fran, LA, Phoenix or Orlando to pick it up as these are usually cheap flights for us from Indianapolis.

I'll keep checking the classifieds. I will also be calling some of the numbers of dealers/refurbishers to see what they have in stock.

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer.
