something over 300 per tank - i don't run it dry though so I'm not sure of the total. I average about 21 mpg - most of my driving is journeys of more than 15 miles or so.

I just talked to the service manager. He said the axle on the left actually BROKE at the wheel! The other axle has some major freeplay. All 4 CV joints are well worn and scored, so it's not that they're actually broken I guess. So basically the axles are still connected to the trans but obviously can't supply that moving power to the wheels! Oh boy....

As to Ed's milage...Im getting just under 200 miles per tankful; that's from tip top to the near dregs. What area you guys getting?

All I need is a bloody co-signer and I'll roll off with a black new beetle.... and no more repair bills....
