I had similar troubles and used a similar solution. I bought my 83.5 Westy in 94. At the time it had 29k miles on it (yep, 29k). The PO kept it parked out back a lot. Trouble was he stored it with only about a quarter tank of gas. Much gunk in there when I bought it (and if any of you noticed a sudden shortage of fuel filters in the latter half of 94 it was because I was cornering the market). For a while I was pumping about as much fuel system cleaner as gas and changing the filter about once a week along with regular blowing in the fuel line. BIG pain-in-the-butt but the clogs gradually decreased in frequency then finally disapeared.
