I have searched the archives for information about Hancook tires to no avail. My syncro has 2 Hancook 8-ply 195R14s with 11K miles from the PO. The tires are Korean and have a 40,000 mile warranty. If the tires are acceptable, it might make more sense for me to buy 4 new ones of the same and rotate these new ones until they catch up to 11K miles. Then I would have 2 matching spares. The price is so good that it might make sense to do this even if I wind up buying 6 new tires before leaving for South America.

I spoke to a dealer in Novato, CA who says he actually has lots of these in stock because there are so many Vanagons in Marin County that they move really well. He also deals in Michelins and other brands and thinks that, since they are D rated they would probably be better than the C rated Michelins. Does anybody know anything about these tires?
