Subject: the bus starts!! Now to sell it..

I dunno what happened, but my problems with the starting seemed to mysteriously vanish! The bus starts and I drove all day today; stopping and starting many times and driving in many types of traffic. It's as if nothing ever happened. Perhaps there was gunk in the tank that has loosened up? (however, I WAS getting gas to the engine...I checked the fuel check screw (thanks for the tip!) ) And now I keep lots of gas in the tank!

Now, I hope to sell said bus..yeah, I know...but I have a loan out on the thing and I don't wish to pay on a loan anymore! It ties up money that is needed elsewhere. I can get by with a beater Rabbit for $500 or so. I just need basic transportation to get me and my mountain bike to the trailheads. And I think that I want to have a more "vintage" bus someday anyways. Saw some beat-up old loafs today and I just get goosebumps looking at them! They have a definite personality that appeals to my retro self.

So...I had the leaking head problem awhile back. Got an estimate for repairs in the 2K range for new ones and all the labor (I cannot do this myself). Needless to say, I threw caution to the wind and got some sealant and tossed that in . Has not leaked more than a drop since then and that was 6 months ago! The bus stays cool and drives great. Can I get $4000 for it? It's a 1990 ... It's in pretty darn good shape as far as the body (some rust spots but no dents!) and I have an in-dash CD and Thule roof rack to toss in. It's a Multi-Van with the orchestra seats and fold-down bed for the back. Rubber floor mats. A.C. and 4-on-the-floor. A couple here in town in very interested and I want to be fair. I told them about the head gasket thing, by the way..

I guess that's my question...is $4K fair?
