Mark and the group,

My solution to the same problem was to fashion an over bent piece of
sheet metal which I attached to the right front bolt of the luggage
rack. I made it large enough to accommodate two magnetic antennas as I
use several different ones. The bolt that anchors the luggage rack also
acts as an electrical bond giving low SWR characteristics for the
antenna. Also a point to consider, more mass= better magnetic bond...
