I jsut called the local VW dealer service department to see what they had to say about the conversion. I asked how much to convert my 89 vanagon to 134A. They said why would you want to do that. I said because I was quoted a price of $40 a pound for 12. He said they had never done a conversion and there were no kits available from VW to do this conversion. He recommended I bring it in to them for a charge at $30 a pound. I never mentioned the fact that 12 is bad for the environment. John.
