If you mean the rear hatch, the problem is that the main screws have worked loose. From the inside, pop the plastic popper thingys that hold the inside lower decorative hatch covering . Remove the cover. Reach in and release the latch by pushing on it. Finger pressure works just fine. No need to mess with the electric lock or its link.

Once open, tighten the main latch screws with a big Phillips screwdriver. Might want to add some thread locker.

After you destroy the plastic thingys, if you have any new ones left over please send the new ones to me. They seem larger than anything in Checker Auto.
