See http://www3.vw.com/cars/camper/ [???]

note the "Very limited availability. Available by order."

and on the specs page:

US VW Prices - Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price*

EuroVan GLS $29,900 EuroVan MV $31,400 EuroVan Camper $25,725 + Winnebago Camper Package price

[* Specifications, equipment, options and prices are subject to change without notice. Some items may be unavailable when the vehicle is built. Prices exclude taxes, destination charges, optional equipment, registration and dealer charges. Emissions charges may vary by jurisdiction.]

Last time I looked, the 1997 Winnebago Package was ~ $10K+ (just last week someone on the ~vw.watercooled NG posted about bying a brand new 97 EVC for $30K from a local San Jose CA dealer)

Makes my '90/91 Vanagon camper feel good by comparison, even if it just rolled up 102000 on the odo...;-)

PS: the Curb Weight/GVW for the GLS and MV are shown as 2628/5908 while the Camper is 5106/5997...while elsehwere it's claimed that the EV GLS and MV "can hold up to 1496 ponds of whatever you wish" which would make the curb weight 4412?

Also, the turning circle is shown on-line as 38.4ft for all versions while the paper brochure for the EV (SWB GLS and MV) says 35.6ft. They must have used the LWB version on-line...
