Thanks to all those who helped with advice! I found a nice brass tee at my local Lowes shop. What I decided to do, is I teed off at the previously described joint with a third piece of hose about a foot long. at the end of this hose, is a nice brass plug. Next year when I flush, all I'll have to do is drop the spare tire, remove the plug, and stick in my garden hose adapter which I made from articles also found at Lowes. This foot long piece of hose fits nicely along side the shifter box, and is held by a nylon tie. I'm confident in this repair, but in getting intimate with my cooling system, I found other pipes and hoses that I think will need replacing before the end of the millinium. Oh well, I guess it's better to know.
