One of the great things about owning a VW has always been the "option" of being able to fix it yourself. How many other brands of vehicles out there allow you to single-handedly drop an engine and rebuild it so easily? I like having the choice of being able to work on my own vehicle. My last car was a 1986 Toyota van and it went well over 200K without having to do anything major to it. They are beautiful cars indeed and I wish I had had the knowledge to have kept it. But try pulling an engine out of a car with an engine in the middle...
