I hope that solves your problem. Try to ascertain if the old drier has/is
releasing it's desiccant(tiny balls) into the system. Also, my drier has
no such relief valve on the top of it, only a sight glass. In either case
determine if the glass/valve is on the inlet or outlet. If it is on the
outlet, I would say you might still have a restriction down stream.
