No I haven't talk to Karl yet.  Thank for th info.  The coolant will drip
once the engine is hot and it needs 1 quart of coolant per 250 miles now.
The leak is around the driver side cylinder head area but doesn't seem to
be from the rubber gaskets between the head and cylinder or the cylinder
and block.  I took the heat shield off and tried to find the source of leak
but in vain.  The gasket area looked dry and the leaks were around the top
of the head.  I actually suspect I have a cracked head caused by one of the
recalls several years ago performed by VW dealer.  The recall did apply
more torque on all head bolts and I found the mechanic did a bad job since
I saw him using a $5 torque wrench and later verified by using my
digi-torque wrench to recheck the torque.  None of the bolts are within
spec and they're widely different in range.  But I hesitate to re-torque it
thinking it may cause further damage (a bad decision!).
I called VWoA about the coolant leak and been told screw it.  I've called
the BBB and set up a case but I don't give it too much hope.
