Greetings all.

A few weeks back I had mentioned that I had my driveshaft rebuilt. The driveline specialists used external shims. Well, things did not go too well on the first drive. Vibrations right away. Discovered that the front U-joint had moved after the first bit of torque was applied to the shaft. The shaft moved off center. It appeared that more shims were needed, so I sent the shaft back for repair. Turned out that one of the snap rings on the outside had not seated in the groove. Repair completed, shaft installed and good. No vibrations. We shall see how this holds up. Leaving on 2000K road trip thru BC. Business trip. I will drive up to the top of Vancouver Island, then an 18 hr ferry to Prince Rupert. Then across to Prince George and down to Williams Lake. Then back to Vancouver Island. Should take about 10 days. The drive is beautiful and entertaining, even after 30 trips. It will be interesting to see how the shaft holds up. Naturally, I'll bring the tool box. Hopefully I will not be picking any gravel out from the back of my head. See ya later.
