Subject: digijet tool update

-------------------------- The digijet tool (for 83.5 -85 vanagons) has moved from the drawing board to the perfboard and is now installed in a 6x4x2 inch black box. It has LEDs, LCD, rotary switch , and a 25 pin d shell connector mounted on top of the box. The LCD reads voltages from 00.00 to 19.99 volts. With the 6 position rotary switch it is possible to select for viewing on the LCD, temp1, temp 2, Oxygen sensor, afm wiper, battery voltage, and a probe wire to use the LCD as a volt meter. With the 6 LEDs the status of the following can be determined at a glance, ECU power, start signal to the digijet, fuel pump power, throttle switch, coil pulses, and fuel injection pulses. The female 25 pin d shell cable connector mounted with the pins exposed upward providing meter / probe points pin for pin with all 25 pins of the digijet ECU. Like the digifant tool the digijet tool requires the installation of a flat wire pc type cable onto the printed circuit board of the ecu. Fellow list member Jim Maginel from Cape Girardeau Mo. is dropping by Friday afternoon so we can test this tool out. Jim has volunteered to use his 85 to check and test and debug the tool. I feel there are no bugs but one never knows until all is hooked up and plugged in. Jim and I will keep the list updated as we move forward with this endeavor. Thanks for all the interest, help, and encouragement from so many on the list. With your help I was able to get voltage readings and parts location / layouts with out seeing or having a digijet van to work with.
