<< Can anyone tell me how the LT35 compares to the Vanagon? It looks bigger in all dimensions, but how much bigger? How much longer is the extended wheelbase version? Weight? Driveability? How are the camper versions laid out? Anything similar to the Westy we have here in the states? I realize that I'll probably never get to see one of these other than pictures (are there any here in North America?) but my curiosity is going here... >>

was in europe wk before last, and got a few good pics of the LT series that i'll try to post to a site, soon.... first of all, they are really NOTHING like the vanagon, aside from the fact that they are boxy looking, and bear a vague semblance to a "Vanagon on steroids"....(and now the new LT's resemble vaguely a EV) they have a inline (diesel) engine mounted in the cab - between the drivers and passengers seat. i saw LT's ranging from LT-30, to LT-40. they make all kind of configurations, highroofs, panels, singlecab and doublecab pickups, etc...

theres a mid '80's LT-35 motorhome for sale, in Burlington NJ. The guy who owns it has a vw shop called Volkstech. ive seen it before, at the Punch Buggy vw show at atco raceway, atco nj.. it was brought over here as a singlecab, and had the motorhome body built for it over here.

i also saw a '85 LT-30 or 35 panelvan for sale, in Brussles belgium... i think they were asking the equivelant of 800 US dollars. i have pics of it... (kind of a distance tho)
