The same thing happened to me, the guy had over filled it and he said he was checking for leaks at a higher pressure-- I didn't buy his story--went home-- tightened the thru bolt that run thru the compressor, and havent had a leak since. Maybe I was just lucky-- But it worked..      Good luck-- Bud
