Years ago your pal and mine, Bill Gates, tried to import a Porsche 959 into the US. Even then he had bucks, but the last I heard he never got them thru customs. They wanted them to be crash tested. Mr. Gates came back with: "we can simulate a crash in a computor !".I don't know if he ever did it.

Once upon a time any US citizen was allowed a once in a lifetime import shot. On person, one car, and only one car, ever. But that was over 20 years ago. And it still had to mean certain standards.

Aliens, can I believe, bring their cars with them for a visit but not to exceed a year. After that they must be sent back, made to comply, or crushed.

Cars from Canada are a different matter but can also be a problem.

Importing cars that do not conform to US standards has become increasingly impossible. Today it is a complete joke.

But in the near future, if Euro standards get in sync with ours it may be possible.
