hello, friends,

the transmission rebuild is done, the mechanics have been thanked many
times over and in many ways (thanks to all your suggestions), the car is
loaded, and i'll be hitting I-40 WESTBOUND today. yahoo!

i'm taking it easy today, just going to asheville, nc, about 5 hours
away. so if anything else goes, we're not too far from home for the next
two days. after that, colorado via graceland, unless the heat breaks in
the southwest, in which case it'll be arizona.

so, my friends, thanks for all your help, encouragement and good vibes
over the past five weeks. i'll drop the list a line when i can get on a
computer to let you know how we're doing. in the meantime, happy trails!
