I assume that you have done an archive search(http://www.sason.com/vanagon.nsf or http://gerry.vanagon.com/archives/vanagon.html) for FS (for sale) and Wolfsburg, that should snare the ones that were for sale and you could email the owners with your story and ask how much they got for theirs - also many people put out lists from the local newspaper each week - again in the archives. Also each search engine has an automotive section that you can search and the web blue book stuff. That's what I did when I wanted to know what a fair price was for my van when I bought it - then I graphed the results dollars against year.(Search for mstebbins@hotmail.com in the archives). It will take some time and trial and error but it is all there -especially the blue-book page gives a formula for the value (function of age and miles, AC, Auto etc).

Good luck, Malcolm S
