Don't get too excited, Mark. Do you know if you have the stock sized tires (205/70-14 99T Reinforced) on your Syncro, your speedometer will be off about 5mph. Your actual speed may have been only 80mph. Just compare the mileage mark on the Interstate and your odometer (if it still works) and you'll find out.

I spent last week tooling around Montana and had several opportunities to drive my 87 syncro Westy at it's top speed (there is no daytime speed limit in MT). On a good level road with no headwind, the van was able to travel at 85mph. Oil temperature crept up to 240F when driving at this speed.
