Subject: '82 VW vanagon: Any known problems?
Comments: To: vanagon@vanagon.com

Hi, I am a German who has travelled many countries over the last 27 years with VW campers (Models 63 to 79). I am a newbie to this site.

In the end of August I'll come to Florida. I want to buy a VW vanagon and travel the Americas for almost two years. Through the web I found a suitable VW vanagon (1982 model with high roof, diesel engine). A friend (a lady) has checked it for its outer appearance and she drove it. She recommends me to buy it.

Does anybody know of major problem areas for this model which I should have checked especially? Or is it just as reliable as all my older VW campers?

Is there any accessory which I MUST fit when going to Mexico and beyond?

Please send a copy to my email address.

Thank you, Richard
