Harry & all:

I can't reccomend highly enough the keeping of one's powerplant sparkling
clean. It makes maintenance a much more tollerable task, not coming away from
it a beast covered with grime and filth. Further, service technicians *appear*
to take more care with a car that is obviously cared for, and on which they
don't have to filthy themselves (further?). Finally, it helps you spot trouble
at the earliest possible time, the errant leak not being camoflauged by its
surrounding grime.

I visit the local "wand wash" from time to time, using their "engine and tire
cleaner". Like most, I cover the vital electricals, and never wash the engine
when HOT. Been doing it for years, followed usually by a "armour all-type"
protectant for hoses, etc.
