Mike, we seem to be following the same path.
I have sucessfully installed a Ford 2.3 turbo motor in my 85 vanagon.
The drive acessories are tight, but fit.  The alternator is very close
to the edge of the engine lid opening.  I am using all ford acessories
from an 87 mustang (serpintine drive).  I had to lower the trans and
move it back some.  I am trying to make my web page current, but have no
time.
My frigging mail account is hosed.  If you are reading this, it is
because I was sucessful sending it through my hotmail account.  The
outgoing GTE server is having serious problems.
Mike, I will definetly be in touch with photos and correspondence.
Pmail me for my phone number if necessary.  The biggest help will be the
photos, which I am trying to find time to post.
On to another note, Garth, I have received your correspondence and will
get your parts to you ASAP.  Please send mail to pdooley@gte.net, I can
recieve through GTE, just can't send from it.  All the GTE tech support
couldn't help, and reinstalling everything didn't help either.
AAAARRRRRGGGGGGG.
And...Bill D, please pmail me.  I lost everyone's addy when I
reinstalled everything.
I can do a ground up engine swap with hardly no outside help, but can't
keep my mail program going...go figure.  Hope to have everthing worked
out soon.  Sorry so long.  Night all...
