Just signed on the list. Thought I was doing it in digest mode but that did not work. Any help? The volume of this baby to too much for me. :-) I am on the other list (now split) so really need the digest with three to follow.

Anyway, I bought a 82 vanagon to round out my collection. On closer inspection I found the engine to be quite a mystery. With the help from Sean Bartnik (I bet you guys have heard of him ) I found out the 82 sports a 72 bus case. What the??? Nothing is right about the engine and was missing the rear cooling tin so I parked it till I had the time to sort it out. Went to the bone yard and purchased vanagon tin and tried to put it in (do not laugh- My newest other bus is a 71). This weekend dropped the engine to fit the tin and it will NOT fit. Long story short: If it ain't a 1660 DP engine I have no hope.

The bus is very solid. I spent a little time (a lot) under her this weekend and the undercoating is begining to peel off showing nice fresh paint. Interior nice, seats need some covers. Has AC but no compressor. Had a heater at some point but it is missing. :-(

Anybody need a nice non rusty vanagon body and trans? This baby is for sale cheap. I can e-mail pics if wanted. I really do not know what to do, but hate to see it in the driveway waisting away. Located in Tennessee.
