Ok, since this is taking a turn anyway, this actually isn't for a boxer head, it's for the inline 4 head in my Golf. Since I didn't find any info in the archives, I felt that I should ask so any answers could make it in the archives (hiding the identity of the vehicle of course - but it concealed intentions have a nasty way of revealing themselves)... To sum this up, it looks like the head needs to come off because no matter what I try, a bunch of stuff is going to make its way into the cylinder... Also, the threads do not appear to be crossthreaded (it broke about 2 or 3 threads down into the hole and the exposed threads look ok). The center electrode came out with the body of the plug so I really only have the threads and the three prongs left.
