Well Volks, We were able to get 300 miles in yesterday after getting Faith's coolant system flushed of all the DEXRON. I was able to stand by and assist the friendly fellows at G+G Radiator in Dawsons Creek, BC as they had never even been under one of these vans before. But we muddled through with some help from my list printouts and a call to the dealer in Grande Prarie and were successful in remove 99 percent of the ATF. Of course, they still charged me for the flush and fill and two gallons of extended life Zerex, which I will probably have to flush out and replace when I get to Anchorage. The bypassed tranny cooler is fine and not a drop has spilt since leaving Dawson Creek. We're just taking it easy.... 40 up steep grades, 60 max on the flats and downhill. And on a good point, just before leaving Dawson Creek.... I heard a faint mewing under the shed behind the hotel....sure enough it was our wayward cat, Elmo.... he's now back with us and more affectionate than ever after his ordeal in the Canadian wilderness. Well....we're off to Swift River, Yukon! Scott De Santi 86 Vanagon (Faith) |
