It was caused by a small leak in rear heater core: after hard driving, hot coolant, coolant volume decreases, and air is sucked thru the small leak. After that air bubbles must be somewhere in the engine. I've opened the breather screw at radiator - air cames out. I've refilled the expansion tank a few times until I found the leak. Additinally the cap of the expansion tank doesn't work correctly, so that refill tank was always full and the expansion tank becomes dry. The expansion tank must always be total filled. If not exchange cap! (BTW the function of this cap is not discribed correctly in Bentley) Conrad. 86GL -----Ursprüngliche Nachricht----- Von: Erlaz@AOL.COM [SMTP:Erlaz@AOL.COM] Gesendet am: Sonntag, 26. Tonight as it cooled to a balmy 95, the coolant light kicked on while at a stop light agter a short drive. We do not see any leaks-thank God-but, as we pulled into the driveway we could hear the coolant boiling. Any ideas? Thanks, Christine and Dan and Althea 91 |
