Subject: Is there any such thing as a diesel window van in the US?

Volks,

Out of curiosity, I keep checking out the diesel Vanagon-related pages and messages. It seems, in America at least, that all of the diesels imported here are Westies. Are there ANY exceptions?

I know that the diesel started out as a cargo van in Europe (and would be kinda nice to own, actually). I also know that maybe 3 out of 10 Transporter configurations get licensed for sale in the US, so inevitably, there were diesel non-campers sold in Europe besides the panel van... right?

BTW, does anybody know of any panel Vanagons in the US? I know, I know, it's hard enough to find a panel loaf or splitty (except in Cali). I saw one in Hot VW's done by a guy in England a few years ago, but it was a conversion from a regular window van. Anyway, it would be sweet to own one (except when you get pulled over 10 times a night.) :(
