Hi Again All....

      Just when the sun was shining and my newly christened 86 and my family
were tooling up Alberta 2 toward Edmonton... I was made aware of the sweet
smell of ethylene-glycol.  My senses became more alert (there were many cars
around us in traffic that could have caused this) and I started my boys
searching around the inside of the van for the source.  My oldest boy was the
first to spy the damp carpet at the base of the rearmost seat.  I was beset
with the dreaded leaking rear heater core.  But again, thanks to my frequent
list access and consistent studying of Vanagon problems I was able to deduce
the best solution and cross jumpered the rear core out of the coolant loop
with one of its own hoses.  I then filled and bled the coolant ( of course, I
cary spare phosphate/silicate free coolant thanks to list advice) and got
everything put back together all in about 2 hours.  So, the Alaska Vanagon
Saga continues.  And the invaluable advice and information of all you
wonderful people has again kept my family and I mobile.
