The reason I brought a 83.5 Vanagon GL($3000) was to transport my son who is handicaped and wheelchair-bound. The center seat was removed and tiedown anchor strips were mounted in 4 places-behind driver and passenger seats,in front corners of rear bench seat-adjustable tiedown straps fitted with hooks at other end for the wheelchair. There are 2 6ft folding aluminum ramps for access/exit van.All this was done by Labron Mobility for approx Can$700 in 1995. The Vanagon can't be beaten for space to move a wheelchair around in or the big door for access-no tilting the w/chair to get in and out. And now I have the chance-I would like to thank those who post their problems/solutions and the archives-it has helped me big time since I got my computer begining this year. gerryr
