Subject: Syncro wheel bearing play?

I tried the archives but it would not complete a search in less than 10 min. Anyway, how much play should I expect in the syncro rear wheel ? I had mine on the jack yesterday and noticed at least 1-1.5mm play at the outside of the tire - a noticeable clunk - clunk as I pulled and pushed. This has got to be too much, No? Thanks for any info in advance! Nat 91 syncro westy
