Al, IMHO, your '89 Syncro Westy is worth exactly what it would cost you to replace it with a comparable vehicle delivered to your door. They are rare and getting rarer so the price will need to be high enough to pry it loose from the twit who is going to sell it. Larry '86 Syncro Westfalia which is not for sale and never will be.
