Hi DAve,

I recently installed a Sony CD into my 85 and had no problem. The Depth of the CD player needs to around 6". Some players exceed this by a lot. I just followed the directions that came with it. There was one exception. Since there is no accessory position, I tied the two power wires together and used the factory setup (i.e., used the same power lead, ground lead and speaker wires. I butt spliced all these wires to the new Sony wiring harness and simply pushed it into the slot, and it worked. Now I didn't connect it to the ignition switch, so I make sure it is turned off before locking it up.

In my adventure, I took a good look at the fuses and found another can of worms. I need to go through all the fuses and clean up the connections. Seems a little corrosion has set in.
