Just scanning the list digests from last week (we just got back last night), I see no mention of the TbyT '98 event. Maybe I missed it.

Anyway, we had a great time and met lots of good people. I recommend the even to anyone. We had a caravan to Mt. Greylock, a hike to the Hoosac Tunnel with the bonus of seeing a train go in, catered dinner and breakfast, and lots of VW talk and ideas.

Bill Dummit hooked up Darrell's Digifant tool to our '87 and it diagnosed that our idle/full throttle enrichment switch is toast and that the new AFM from Ron is reading off spec (had the old one with me, of course, and reinstalled). Way cool; I want one of these boxes now. Darrell, you got a spare Digifant ECU with the tool hooked up? We had a couple of hiccups along the trip that would have been nice to diagnose.

We made our vacation out of this trip and clocked 2000+ miles through MA, VT, NH, and ME backroads with no van problems to speak of (although a scary incident that I'll write about in a separate message). We had 9 days to figure out the ins and outs of Weekender camping and what other niceties we'd like to have for future trips.

I'd enjoy hearing from anyone that was there, especially if we got to meet (too many Veedubbers there to meet them all).
