Better thermal efficiency? You mean better gas milage? It's a high compression golf motor, so should be quite a bit more "thermally" efficient as higher CR motors are more efficient. You can also beat the hell out it and still expect to see 200k miles from it. Did I mention it's a golf motor? You know, the engine VW was supposed to use in the first place? It took somebody this long to build a kit? Any reason all the vanagons being built overseas are using motor or derivatives? Because its the best choice.

As usual, EC didn't post any details. From the photos, looks like KEP adapter plate and flywheel are used. I can scan pics from mag if anyone interested. Is that legal?
