Subject: Rough Running '90 Multivan

Hi All,

I've got a '90 Multivan that was just tuned up but still isn't running "right". Right off the line it is very sluggish and I'm not expecting to win any drag races! It just seems to be holding back until the RPM's get into the 2500 - 3000 range, then it seems more peppy, though not as peppy as it was before the tune up.

Also, there is a hesitation, missing, jerking feeling in the engine. It is most noticable under harder acceleration but I feel it when crusing as well. It sort of cuts out. This was present before the tune up and I was hpoing that it would get cured, it didn't change.

Usually it's not to bad on the freeway but one time it got so bad that I thought it would quit altogether. That time is way hot out, in the mid 90's, and we had been running about 65 for a few hours with the AC on. I turned off the AC and it seemed to lesson the problem. I also slowed down so to give it a "rest". After a while the problem went away and so far it hasn't returned to that level.

Other than this cutting out, hesitation thing it seems to run fine. We just got back from a 1700 mile trip which returned about 19 mpg with a high of 21.5. It idle's a little rough but not to bad. I've been running 91 octane gas and run some Chevron Techroline (sp?) and some STP gas treatment throught the fuel system in hopes of cleaning it out.

Any ideas on what I should check out? Any and all input is appreciated.
